Red Carpets are exciting no matter the context. Whether it’s an award show, movie premier, or a gala we are completely on board and fascinated.
When it comes to more formal red-carpet events, it’s usually typical to see men dressed to the nines in their finest most dapper tuxedo. Keeping it simple and classic is the look that most men tend to go for, which in all honesty rarely fails.
But, every so often, there will be a few stars that go against the grain and the “typical tuxedo fashions,” and decide to wear something completely unexpected and bold. It’s true that not only recently, but more frequently we are seeing different styles and prints of tuxedos and jackets for those that want to switch it up and try something different, and because of that we have nothing but fashion respect for those that are so eager to pull it off!
So, take this blog as a sort of “shout-out” to those men that are confident enough in their fashion sense to rock a red-carpet wearing something bold, colorful and trendy. These men are just a few that took wearing a “traditional” tuxedo to a whole new level, and we kind of adore them for it.
Adam Lambert
The pop-rock star is known for being bold, blunt and unapologetically himself, which is why so many have loved Adam Lambert since American Idol. This outfit choice provides nothing less than what is expected of Adam and his style. Attending a “Prom” event, Adam wears a cheetah printed tuxedo jacket with a solid silk black bow tie. The real kicker with this outfit is that the dress shirt chosen is a black sheer dress shirt to give that classic Lambert edginess.
Orlando Scandrick
This year’s ESPYS was a delight. With so many talented, athletic and stylish attendees, our heads were spinning with joy. Making a rather colorful statement was Cowboy’s Cornerback, Orlando Scandrick. This pink and shiny ensemble is not only refreshing, but rare to see. The slim-fit tux really makes this choice a winner rather than a total disaster. Touchdown, Orlando!
TJ Miller
TJ Miller is consistently making us laugh, so this outfit worn to the premier of “Okja” is just so TJ. The actor and funny guy opted for a denim-like suit with matching vest and a blue bow-tie to round things out. We don’t know about you, but our favorite part has got to be the bright red sneakers that he paired with it. Only someone like TJ could pull this look off with this much confidence.
James Corden
The man we all love to well, love James Corden look so completely dapper at this year’s Grammy’s. Wearing a lilac colored silk tuxedo jacket was a really charming and enchanting option. Although this look is not as “talkative” as some of the others on this list, it is still not very common. We think James looks like the ultimate sophisticated and charismatic bloke that he is and that’s why we love him.
Brandon Thomas Lee
The 2017 Met Gala is always full of surprising and bold outfit choices. It’s something fashion lovers live to witness and something celebrities love to take advantage of. Brandon Lee, the son of the infamous Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee was no exception to this rule. Wearing a head to toe gold patterned tuxedo, Brandon’s tuxedo looks like he stepped out of an old-timey regal movie onto the red carpet. In all honesty, not many could pull this look off, and (again) in all honesty, the black loafers with the golden touch and matching vest really round out and complete this outfit.
All in all, these stars having taken the traditional tuxedo we all recognize and respect, and have brought it to a whole other level. The cool thing about fashion and red-carpet events is that we are consistently on the edge of our seat never knowing what crazy and bold outfits we are going to see. That is also the pure fun of it all!
